The Survivors Initiative:
Surviving hopelessness is spearheaded by Deborah Susan, a published author; along with Brian Thomas, who are both passionate advocates for mental health. This initiative is deeply rooted in personal experiences with bullying and the profound impact it can have on mental health. Through a blend of educational resources, including engaging workbooks and a supportive video presentation, the project aims to equip teachers and parents with the tools needed to address these critical issues directly.

This Program Provides Clarity So You, or Your Child, Can Save Lives!
Hello and Welcome to our Website!
What greater joy do we experience than giving to others? And imagine if that giving was life saving! YOUR pre-teen or
teenager could save the life of the student sitting next to them in class. YOUR student is on the ground floor with other
students who are not as grounded or secure as YOUR student. And those parents don’t even know how much their child
is suffering inside. And those students need our help!
Our program teaches a perspective on life that I wish I would have had when I was a teenager. And today, our students
are facing pressures and challenges we never dreamed of “back in the day.” (mine is probably further back than your’s I graduated high school in 1971. In the 1960s, sex education in schools was the topic of contention. Today, we expect the
schools to cover that subject.)
Our program respects the privacy of the students who have experienced a level hopelessness they could not even
define. They did not have the words. All they knew was that they didn’t want to live anymore…. Imagine that…
Your student could take this course and become one of our undercover superheroes who know how to show
compassion and how to give a listening ear. They know how to share their workbook with another student to show
them the perspective on life that gives them something to do and find joy in now, and something to look forward to that
gives purpose to getting through school with something to show for it.
We have had more than one of our superheroes uncover hopelessness in an adult in their life! A relative that no one
else in the family realized was on the brink of taking their own life.

And who is better to provide the most affective defense against such devastation than those who have walked that walk and can now tell us, first hand, how to arm our next generation against the deepest level of hopelessness.
Rather than just treating the symptoms, we go directly the root cause within this simplified course. By clearly understanding the five stages of intellectual development, your student will be able to recognize the number one culprit that robs youngsters of the bright future they deserve.
